An oil and gas client based in Sylhet needed a desk-sized model of a piece of their rig machinery. PrototypeBD modelled it in Fusion 360 and printed it as a display piece that sits comfortably on one open hand.
The model
The layout reads clearly from any side: a long base frame, a central drum wound with a black grooved cable, rounded motor housings at both ends, and gearboxes and fittings stacked on the top deck. Small white and black blocks sit on brackets at the corners. The body is printed in red and the details in white and black, so each part stands apart without paint.
Why a printed model
Equipment like this is too large to bring into a meeting room and too complex to explain from a photo. A scale model in the hand lets a visitor turn it over, follow the drive from motor to drum and see how the parts sit on the skid. The FDM layer lines are visible up close, which is normal for a display model of this size.
The post does not give a scale or the finished size, so we do not quote one here. Painting in the equipment's real colours and assembly on a display base are available on request.
