3D Printing Service in Dhaka, Delivered Across Bangladesh
PrototypeBD runs an FDM 3D printing service from our workshop in Dhaka. You upload a 3D file, our slicer works out exactly how much filament and machine time your part needs, and the price appears on this page in a few minutes, in taka, before you commit to anything. Engineers, students, product teams and hobbyists across Bangladesh use it for one-off prototypes, replacement parts, enclosures, jigs and small production runs.
Every part is printed in-house on our own printers, checked by hand and sent by courier anywhere in the country. Typical turnaround for a normal job is 2–5 working days from the moment you confirm the quote; the quote itself shows the print time, so you know how long the machine will be busy with your part.
FDM 3D Printing Price in Bangladesh
There is no flat per-part price in FDM printing, because a hollow 40 g cover and a solid 40 g gear take very different amounts of filament and time. Our price is built from four things the slicer measures on your actual file:
- Model weight: the filament inside the part itself, charged per gram at the rate of the material you pick.
- Support material: overhangs need scaffolding that is thrown away after printing. It is weighed separately and charged at its own per-gram rate, so a part designed to print without supports costs less.
- Print time: machine time is charged by the hour. Finer layers and higher infill take longer, so they cost more.
- Material and quality preset: each filament has its own rate, and the preset you choose (layer height and infill) scales the result.
A worked example. A 40 g PLA bracket costs ৳240 in material (40 g × ৳6/g at today's rate). The quote then adds the support material the slicer finds, if any, and the machine time for the print, each as its own line, and applies a small minimum order value to very small parts. Upload the file and you see all of it itemised; nothing is estimated by eye.
The quality presets the tool offers right now:
| Preset | Layer height | Infill | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy | 0.2 mm | 15% | Fastest and most affordable. Visible layer lines — great for prototypes and test fits. |
| Standard (default) | 0.2 mm | 30% | Balanced strength, finish and price. Right for most functional parts. |
| Premium | 0.2 mm | 50% | Fine layers and stronger infill for display pieces and detailed parts. |
Delivery is charged separately and quoted with your order. Bulk orders of the same part get the quantity discount the tool applies automatically; for runs of a few hundred pieces or more, message us for a manual quote.
Materials We Print
These are the filaments loaded in the quote tool today, with the density we use to turn your model's volume into a weight. All of them are stocked in our own filament shop, so you can buy the same spool if you print at home.
| Material | Rate | Density | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| PLA | ৳6/g | 1.24 g/cm³ | Prototypes, models, display pieces and enclosures that stay indoors. The easiest material to print, with the cleanest surface. |
| PETG | ৳9/g | 1.27 g/cm³ | Functional parts, brackets, containers and anything that sees water or sunlight. Tougher than PLA and a little flexible. |
| ABS | ৳10/g | 1.04 g/cm³ | Heat-resistant housings, automotive-style parts and anything you want to sand, glue or acetone-smooth. |
| ASA | ৳13/g | 1.07 g/cm³ | Outdoor parts: like ABS, but UV-stable, so it does not yellow or go brittle in the sun. |
| TPU | ৳12/g | 1.21 g/cm³ | Flexible parts: phone cases, gaskets, bumpers, straps and grips that need to bend without breaking. |
| PA (Nylon) | ৳15/g | 1.14 g/cm³ | Gears, hinges, clips and wear parts that need strength and low friction. |
| PLA-CF | ৳15/g | 1.3 g/cm³ | Stiff, matte, carbon-fibre-filled parts for jigs, drone frames and fixtures where rigidity matters more than impact strength. |
Colours are chosen in the tool from the spools on our shelf; pick “any” if the colour does not matter and we print in whatever is loaded.
Build Size, Tolerance and Finish
The tool measures each part and assigns it to the smallest printer it fits on, so small parts are never priced on a large machine. The largest bed takes a single part up to 400 × 400 × 400 mm. Bigger objects are printed in sections, which you join yourself after delivery.
| Printer | Maximum part size (X × Y × Z) |
|---|---|
| Bambu Lab A1 0.4 nozzle | 256 × 256 × 256 mm |
| Bambu Lab A2L | 330 × 320 × 325 mm |
| Large format (Neptune 4 Max / Ender-5 Max) | 400 × 400 × 400 mm |
Standard FDM parts hold about ±0.2 mm on most dimensions; holes print slightly undersize and are best drilled or reamed to a final fit. Layer heights run from 0.12 mm (fine) to 0.2 mm (draft); the finer the layer, the smoother the surface and the longer the print. Parts are delivered with supports removed and surfaces cleaned, as they come off the printer; we do not sand, prime or paint.
FDM vs SLA
FDM (filament) printing is the right choice for most functional parts: it is cheaper per gram, prints far larger objects, and offers tough materials like PETG, ABS, nylon and flexible TPU. Its surface shows layer lines, and small text and fine features soften.
SLA resin printing cures liquid resin with light at much finer layers, so it excels at miniatures, jewellery masters, dental-style models and anything with crisp detail or a glass-smooth surface. Resin parts are smaller, more brittle and cost more per part. If you need a part that works, choose FDM; if you need a part that looks perfect up close, choose SLA. We are happy to advise if you are unsure.
No 3D File? We Can Design It
The quote tool needs a 3D model (STL, 3MF, STEP, STP, OBJ). If all you have is a broken part, a sketch, a photo or measurements, our CAD design service builds a printable model for you first. You keep the file, and we print it the same way as any upload.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which file formats can I upload?
STL, 3MF, STEP, STP, OBJ. Up to 10 files per quote, each up to 50 MB. Export from Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Tinkercad, Blender or any CAD tool; STL and 3MF slice most reliably.
How fast do I get the price?
A few minutes. The slicer runs on our server as soon as you upload, and the page updates with the price, print time and weight; you also get the quote on WhatsApp. Very large or complex models can take longer, and anything the slicer cannot handle goes to our team for a manual price.
How long does printing take?
Most jobs are finished within 2–5 working days of confirmation. The quote shows the exact machine time for your part; multi-part orders and very large pieces take longer, and we tell you the expected date when you confirm.
Do you deliver outside Dhaka?
Yes. Parts ship by courier across Bangladesh; delivery is charged separately and shown before you pay.
Is there a minimum order?
There is no minimum quantity: a single part is fine. A small minimum order value applies to tiny parts and is already included in the quote you see.
Can I choose infill and layer height myself?
Yes. The presets (Economy, Standard, Premium) cover most jobs, and Standard is the default. Switch on the advanced options to set infill and layer height directly; the price updates for whatever you pick.
