The Myofascial Rise is a high-rise design by Noor Mohammad Abdullah of North South University (NSU). The model was 3D printed by PrototypeBD from his design.
The form
The tower is built from dozens of thin, separate floor plates that rotate as they rise, so two twisting volumes wrap around each other. Near the base, a curved lattice of small triangulated members rises beside the tower, and a flowing podium spreads out underneath it. Low context blocks stand around the site.
This is the kind of shape 3D printing suits: each plate has its own outline and the lattice members are very thin, yet both come straight from the design file instead of being cut and glued piece by piece.
Presentation
The photos show the model in two ways: in plain light, where the edges of the floor plates draw the twist, and lit from inside, where light glows through the thin plates and the podium. Lighting can be added to a model on request.
The caption gives the scale as 1/32. In Bangladeshi architecture captions that usually means 1/32 inch to one foot (about 1:384); that reading is our interpretation.
