A customer needed a way to mount the power supply for a UniFi Pro Max 16 (PoE) switch inside a standard 19-inch rack. PrototypeBD 3D printed a custom rack mount for it.
What was printed
- Open trays sized to hold the power supply, with retaining clips moulded into the floor and square cut-outs in the end walls for cables;
- side rails and end plates with raised mounting tabs and small locating pins, so the parts join without loose brackets;
- round holes in the side walls.
The photos show the full batch laid out and stacked on the workshop table: many identical trays and rails, all printed in one grey filament so the finished rack looks uniform.
Why print it
Network racks are standard, but what goes inside them often is not. A printed mount can be shaped around one specific device and then repeated as many times as there are units to mount, with every copy coming from the same file.
