This is a fully custom enclosure for a handheld ID card verification device. It is shaped like a scanner gun: the operator holds it by the grip and presents the card to the scan face.

Features you can see

  • A contoured pistol grip with a ribbed end
  • A rectangular display window on the top face
  • Three indicator holes labelled Power, Scan and Buzzer, printed into the shell
  • A flat scan face with an embossed wireless symbol and the words "ID Card Verification"
  • Screw bosses so the shell closes around the electronics

Why print the enclosure

For a device at this stage, a printed shell gives a clean, professional body without paying for an injection mould. Text and symbols are modelled into the part, so there are no stickers to peel off, and the grip can be changed after the first handling test. The matte black finish suits a part people hold all day.
