Some architectural models need parts that look like glass. These pieces were printed in clear resin on an SLA printer for that kind of work, and the post shows them straight off the machine.

What the photos show

  • a multi-storey building frame with a grid of glazed panels, open stair flights and two tall cylindrical cores, still on the build plate;
  • the same frame hanging upside down from the build plate inside the printer, with the cured layer visible on the light screen beneath;
  • a batch of twisted, sail-like spire elements printed together on small support rafts.

Why resin for clear parts

Filament can be translucent, but it rarely looks like glass, and thin stair treads and mullions are hard to hold at model scale. Clear resin keeps flat panels smooth and lets light pass through, so a glazed facade or a feature spire reads correctly beside opaque printed or laser-cut parts.
